We recently held a studio party to celebrate the launch of our gorgeous new website. The site was designed by Amy from Sai Designs and features throughout the most amazing bespoke illustrations that we commissioned from Sydney artist Nikki Catalano. We think that Nikki did an incredible job capturing the Milk & Honey Photography feeling with her peachy keen characters and dreamy illustrations. We love  to find the romance in every moment and showcase the natural beauty and joy we find around us. We think Nikki’s work is such a great fit.

Here is some inspiration for a gorgeous family portrait session with the Beddoe family – Mum, Dad and two boys visiting Sydney from Melbourne. We let the boys be boys, with a fun afternoon of climbing trees, running, wrestling and showing off their muscles. We also wanted to capture their quieter moments – colouring, concentrating, building LEGO creations and just relaxing together.

The Beddoe’s were thrilled to capture this special age, and the special friendships that the boys have.

Winners are grinners! We had a great time photographing this lucky family of six who won the Father’s Day competition at beautiful design store Stem in Balmain, near the Milk & Honey Photography studio. Yurulbin Park in Birchgrove, also just around the corner, is a great spot for the kids photography, so we can capture the natural joy that comes with running around in a beautiful park. These family portraits were the perfect gift for this Dad’s Father’s Day.

Odette’s 4th birthday party was featured in Fete Press, a beautiful online magazine. This is what they had to say:

In 2011 Matthew did a fashion shoot for Urchin Clothing. In our classic Milk and Honey Photography style of natural and candid moments, Matthew did a beautiful job of capturing the essence of play. The Urchin outfits are handmade and gorgeous and really suited the Milk and Honey style. We love doing pre-wedding shoots. It gives us a chance to really get to know the couple before their wedding day. This pre-wedding shoot is of Kylie and Chris who are getting married in May. We had some really awesome feedback from them that we wanted to share with you: “Just wanted to say once again thank you … they are all so beautiful and we couldn’t be happier. We are so very grateful. I’m very pleased Chris convinced me a pre wedding shoot was something we should do.”

At the end of last year we photographed a look-book shoot for Clarissa Grace. Clarissa designs stunning wedding dresses and that are beautiful, flowy and ethereal – a dream to shoot! We also experimented with different types of post-production which was a great learning experience for us with great results!

This is a stunning example of a beautiful Belly to Baby shoot. John and Lara are such a lovely couple and it is our pleasure to congratulate them on their baby daughter Allegra. How photogenic and calm is she? So many beautiful family moments!
