With a stunning fitted black custom Vera Wang wedding gown and an amazing custom-made hair piece, Karlie and Dennis’ Sydney wedding was always going to be something special and certainly unique. We took these family photos of Anni’s sister Karen (an integral part of the Milk & Honey Photography team) with her husband and four children on location at their family holiday in Byron.

We love a country wedding with those endless green paddocks and relaxed atmosphere. They are quintessentially romantic.  Philippa and Kynan were married at The Verandahs Terrara House Estate, about 20 minutes south of Berry in NSW.

There is so much to love about their wedding day which we photographed, and which was published in the Bride To Be Your Day annual magazine (the year’s best real life weddings and photography annual). The flowers for this wedding were breathtaking – a mixture of purple and yellow blooms of varying shades, including lisantus, freesias, billy buttons, tulips, protea and cabbage flowers.  The bouquets worked beautifully with the gorgeous yellow satin Something Bleu bow-topped slingback shoes from BHLDN. The bridesmaids wore muted grey (almost lilac) jacquard and lace above-the-knee dresses with very sweet ruffled chiffon shoulders and bow-tie belts. Philippa’s glorious chestnut hair was offset with a white flower hairpiece and we just adored her strapless mermaid tail-skirt wedding gown with flower details. It was all divine (even the cows seemed to think so).

We wish Philippa and Kynan all the best in their married life – thank you for sharing your special day with us.

Birchgrove in Sydney’s inner west is a favourite spot of ours for photographing couples, with it’s glimpses of Sydney Harbour and lush native trees. Couple photography (we like to call them ‘playdates‘!) is a great way to give you experience being photographed if you are not used to it, or feel uncomfortable about it. We find that couples are able to have fun and prepare for an event like a wedding without the nerves. Playdates are also a great way to capture a special time in your lives – an anniversary, an engagement, for Christmas Cards or moving house announcements,a graduation, announcing a pregnancy, or just because.

We think these photos that Matthew took of Nicola and Steve are super-sweet and we’re so glad that they loved them too. Nicola wrote to us to let us know what they thought:

“We loved the photos! Honestly, we’re so shy about being photographed that I wasn’t expecting such a beautiful results! We truly are thrilled with them, and very much look forward to picking them up and putting them on display.”

We absolutely adore this Sydney family. Maria and Clark are long term clients of ours. We have photographed all of their family milestones including weddings, Christenings, kids birthday parties, 40th birthday party and family portraits. We now count this lovely family as friends and we are grateful that we have been asked to document the special moments in their lives.
