Portraits and Photo Essay for Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation in Sydney

Thanks to our neighbours Matt and Beck Adamson whose daughter Charlotte was the inspiration for establishing the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation, we had the opportunity to become involved in this year’s Alopecia Awareness Week. Milk & Honey Photography was able to contribute initially by taking some portraits for their billboard and publicity banner. I was also able to spend some time covering the awareness-raising events as more of a photo essay.

Alopecia Awareness Week1

In the morning of October 1st there was a walk from Milsons Point over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Anzac Bridge, and on out to the Olympic Aquatic Centre at Homebush. In the afternoon at the Aquatic Centre they held a celebrity swimming race with the official Ambassador for Alopecia Awareness, Olympic Gold Medalist Stephanie Rice, as well as Mal Meninga, Paul “Nobby” Clarke, Ed Phillips and a host of supporters from school groups, friends and families.

Finally in the evening all of the sponsors, including Anni and myself, were invited to a wonderful ‘thank you’ dinner at Flying Fish restaurant on Jones Bay Wharf. It was a wonderful success for the foundation and great for us to be involved in such a worthwhile cause.
