Sydney Harbour Farm Cove and Glass Island Wedding

Sydney Harbour Farm Cove and Glass Island Wedding

Elizabeth and Andy are a lovely couple, and are always easy-going it seems. From sunshine to shower to downpour they just refused to be fazed and were determined to enjoy their day. That made it so much easier for Peta and I to get an abundance of wonderful images too, because naturally enough we were having great fun sharing in their festivities. After starting on the North Shore in Willoughby (where Elizabeth dressed at her aunt’s home), we met the guests at the Sydney Glass Island at the King Street Wharf. Then after a short harbour voyage around Millers Point, we all watched as Elizabeth and her family met the boat at the Man O’War Steps next to our ever-magnificent Sydney Opera House. We were then taken out into Farm Cove where the ever-graceful Coral Kortepal did the honours and presided over a particularly sunny ceremony. Once ‘done’ we dashed off the vessel and just managed to get in some shots of the bridal party at the gates of the Botanic Gardens before a southerly front set in. Thankfully we had a moment or two on the steps of the Opera house before the real rain hit, when we dashed under the covered entrance for shelter.

The light was surprisingly glamorous somehow, and together with the crowd exiting the Opera House,  it all lent itself to a kind of opening night romance – just married, an umbrella, the Sydney Harbour Bridge as backdrop! Then it was back to the Glass Island where their cruise director Daniel and crew worked wonders as we all enjoyed a showcase Sydney Harbour reception.
